Fachjan is one of seven horticultural participants in ‘Aardwarmte Vogelaer B.V.’ and has been connected since March 2017. The ‘Aardwarmte Vogelaer project’ (geothermal energy) includes a geothermal doublet (combination of two adjacent boreholes) and heat distribution system whose sources are at a depth of 2,500 meters and extract hot water of approximately 85 degrees. Water cooling up to 35 degrees takes place for use in the greenhouses.
Fachjan has already significantly reduced gas consumption in recent years. On top of that, Fachjan expects geothermal heating to further reduce gas consumption by another 80%.

The MPS/SQ certificate is based on universal human rights and the behavioural codes of representative local organisations. It also includes the agreements of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). Fachjan therefore complies with the (inter)national requirements in the field of safety and health. The European Water park Association represents the interests of European swimming pools, spas and water parks. Fachjan and the other members of the EWA meet regularly to exchange experiences at the international level.
Fachjan Project Plants is a corporate member of the EAZA, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria. This is the umbrella organisation of European zoos and aquaria, and has 325 members in 36 countries. EAZA promotes cooperation between the European zoos and aquaria with regard to education, research and conservation.
