The first plants were recently potted at our new location on the Broekkade in Honselersdijk (see news item December 15, 2021). Officially we won’t be using that building until July, but we can already pot and place part of our plants there. This way we can fill the greenhouses in stages.
Recently Fachjan has acquired a new greenhouses. They are located in Honselersdijk, near the Harteveldlaan location. Van der Meer Cactussen’s old company came up for sale because they moved to a new location in ‘s Gravenzande.
It concerns almost 10,000 m² withe tables (rolling). The company will be put into operation on July 1, 2022. Plants with smaller pot sizes will be grown/cultivated at this location including cuttings from smaller special plants.
From March/April 2022, the 1st space will become available so that we can place/grow our plants in the greenhouse in stages. With this new addition we hope to be able to take another step to continue our healthy growth.
September 2019 Fachjan supplied many hundreds of palms and other tropical plants for the largest water park in Europe: ‘Suntago Water World’, part of ‘Park of Poland’. Many dozens of trucks with plants went to Poland at that time and they have been growing (and blooming) since then.
Now, two years later: The plants are growing well and have already made a lot of new leaves. See the photos for the result.
This autumn/winter 2021, Fachjan will be supplying plants and trees for the cruise ship the ‘Wonder of the Seas’ on behalf of and in collaboration with Ambius Project Development North America. 340 meters long and 66 meters wide, this cruise ship will host 5600 passengers and 2400 crew members.
Because this ship will sail in the colder regions, outdoor plants are mainly used for the inner garden. Species used are Rosemary, Pittosporum, Ilex, Lavendula, Taxus, Carex, Juniperus, Heuchera, Liriope, Rhodendron and trees and shrubs such as Magnolia, Cornus and Ginkgo biloba. There are more than 10,000 plants on the ship. 17 truck loads in total.
All plants and trees are pre-planted in 1400 special steel containers based on a semi-hydro system. This is the 3rd delivery of a large number of plants by Fachjan to a mega-sized cruise ship. A few years ago, Fachjan also supplied plants for the ‘Harmony of the Seas’ and the ‘Symphony of the Seas’.
A customer of Fachjan recently placed various Ficus Amstel King trees in a beautiful project in the east of the Netherlands. After being carefully and professionally packed in Fachjan’s greenhouses, the ficuses were transported to the project and installed.
Fachjan is the proud winner of the “Ranking the Grower” election 2020, category pot plants. During a festive and musical event in our parking lot, the prize was awarded by the publisher of KAS magazine, Jacco Strating.

Not to make money directly from it, but to present a business card in the market and contribute to a better world. Honesty and service are of paramount importance to the brothers Fred and Paul Janssen. Although the nursery has been growing for 15 consecutive years, these core values are not lost sight of. ”
“Ranking the Grower” is the annual growers’ election of KAS Magazine, intended to put entrepreneurs from the greenhouse horticulture in the spotlight. Since 2010, a ranking of companies and / or entrepreneurs has been compiled per crop group on the basis of a varying theme.
A professional jury assesses the candidates and determines the final ranking. Traditionally, the results of the election are announced during the “Ranking the Grower Event”. In connection with the corona crisis, the companies that won awards were all personally visited this year.
